Yup. Every Hill Day training I've ever given started with setting expectations that just a meeting with a young staffer doesn't mean a diss from your congressperson. But also, you can wear jeans to the meeting if you want.

Just heard a presentation whereby a service provider repeatedly used "these people" and "minorities" and "lower class" to prove the need for his product. Friends, we have a long way to go.

Condolences to the family of Rich Trumka, a true advocate for workers. I witnessed him go to bat for immigrant workers and others outside the AFL-CIO membership through his words and his actions, bridging old and new organizing models for worker power.

Workplace financial wellness is growing in popularity but is still a checkerboard of solutions. We need more holistic models with strong consumer protections that respond to workers' ever-changing financial lives.

After some Americans were charged $$ for COVID tests & treatment, it makes sense why some don't trust that the vaccine is free. But the vaccine IS free and so is the appointment --whether you are insured or not. You don't have to pay anything out-of-pocket.
