One woman filed a complaint with the Florida Department of Health. The state issued a cease and desist notice against the volunteer. But no charges were pursued. In Florida, providing medical services without a license is a felony.
The center faced no repercussions either.

Most centers aren’t licensed or inspected. In many states, tanning salons, massage parlors and pet stores face more scrutiny.
Instead, centers recruit licensed doctors and other medical staff, then piggyback on their professional licenses to legally provide medical services.

What's happening with Texas power outages today is not a grid-wide blackout like 2021. But that doesn't mean local outages are not policy-related. Texas often ranks poorly in the number of local outages it has. Some utilities also do better than others in preventing them.
