(I think pitching around events (like GDC) actually sort of sucks. Too much noise & competition. Nothing beats meeting people at their offices, or off conference, but that’s going to be tricky for a while. Biz dev will move to video calls.)

Tip! If you’re doing a video pitch, make sure to optimise the experience: buy a USB conference mic (£30); consider a wide-angle webcam to get the whole room in (around £60); use a wired connection for more stability; make sure the room is well-lit; and rehearse your pitch!
To help get noticed, as recommended by @Seffers007, you can use the #screenshotsaturday to show off your game - people from publishers do check the hashtag to see what's out there - it's a handy, simple way to raise your profile.
