    As repulsive as the phrase "X has good schools" is here in New England, I, a parent who moved when we had a child, am part of this.

    Do you ever think about the fact that the US has created and legitimized a system of institutionalized inequality by funding schools through property taxes?  That basically a child’s education is only as good as the value of the property in their neighborhood.

    Today's "hello I am an old person" moment was when a counselor at Eloise's art camp complimented my (honestly a mess) handwriting & I started to explain how I changed my handwriting in Junior High. We were required to take drafting class & had to learn architectural lettering...

    The best thing that I cooked this week: I've made a lot of varied fish+citrus+coconut milk stews and this is my favorite so far. Use a firm fish.

    Twitter sucks sometimes. When replies to some tweet are inevitably full of poison and I wonder why I'm still here, I remember that this is why
