I have a friend who has told me of a similar experience. After escaping them, he actually ended up coming out as a trans guy to boot. They had made him too ashamed of being himself.

You gotta do you (& I mean that), but genuinely: empathizing with a narcissist can ruin yr life. Empathizing with a sociopath can get you killed. I know this sorta things seems like a nice thing to say & I get that, but truly, empathizing w/the ACTUAL worst is rly dangerous...

I'm the same with incels. I've seen how terrible, manipulative, and toxic they are to each other. Step out of line and they'll bully and harass you to no end.
