Just gonna throw this out there: the fact that the police can unilaterally declare a protest against the police to be unlawful, and enforce that declaration with violence, is directly contradictory to the text and spirit of the 1st Amendment.

In fact, it's the exact thing the 1st Amendment was designed to prevent. Clearly it has failed at some point in the last 231 years.

No, the curfews are because many Americans (in the US) are being willfully ignorant about physical distancing and risks in regards to the virus. Curfews are simply the last desperate option when the populace refuse to listen to common sense in the fight to stop a pandemic.

But when the protests are FOR them, they can go on their merry way 🙃🙃 Glad to see they can trample down Grant Ave and it’s all hunky dory bc they’re ‘backing the blue’ 🙄

they don't have to be for them either, we all saw how they reacted when "reopen" protesters were screaming and shoving them. the cops didn't come dressed for a riot because they weren't planning on attacking them.

The cops are obviously breaking the law when they target peaceful protesters just for protesting, but where have they outlawed police protests?

Add on Qualified Immunity, Resisting Arrest and Prosecutor “discretion.” America needs to re-form/transform our whole criminal justice system.
