Most games have been designed with presumed straight male players in mind. The physicality of male heroes is therefore usually designed to be something that the player wants to have/possess/emulate, not something they desire sexually.

Also, I'm not making assumptions about you. Your statements make it very clear that you don't believe misogyny in games is an issue worthy of much concern, or something that has much cultural power or impact.

Really?! People didn't start avoiding the beach in droves after the release of Jaws? Kids of Indian and South Asian descent didn't have widespread experiences of being mocked as "Apu" and "Jafar" in the 90s?
