Yes! That does not make boycotts “authoritarian.” The Montgomery bus boycott was not an authoritarian act. It was members of an oppressed community leveraging power in the way they could to fight back against oppression and make change.

How is that a false equivalency to women fighting against corporate power? And target isn't entitled to business, 2K isn't entitled to have their game carried by retailers.

Let me get this straight. You think people need to be very very careful about how we criticize media, lest the government hear something we say and jump at the chance to use it as an excuse to start censoring everything?! That is not a reasonable concern IMO.

And even if IT DID happen, the fault would lie 100% with the government, and 0% with the critics who said "These values are harmful and we should think critically about them as we engage with this media."

I'm not angry. But what you're being critical of is the very idea of criticism. Following your arguments to their conclusion, we actually WOULDN'T be critical of media, because it might usher in some government censorship state.
