LOLWUT? The fact that on very rare occasions men are, like, changed into animals or whatever has nothing to do with the incredible proliferation of women being victimized as a plot device in games.

I am curious. What is your end goal then? What do you WANT? Like what is the dream scenario you are aiming for. Serious question.

something in the vicinity of equality? a gaming culture that doesn't reinforce and perpetuate sexism? an end to misogyny in our culture?

Equality to what? Men equal to woman or woman equal to men?

Men get treated differently than woman, and vice versa as you know. For example, if woman were equal to men, they'd have to be okay with things that come with it. And if men were equal to woman, they'd have to adapt too. One has to 'scale down' to the other in some sense. /1

I want a society that's free of patriarchy and misogyny, one in which people of all genders are seen as fully human.

I was raised old-style, I hold the door open for a lady, let her go first, I don't hit them, I respect them and their wishes. I cannot imagine a woman wanting me to treat her as a man, we treat men horribly haha. Be careful what you wish for I guess.

I think we should all treat each other as full human beings, with respect and compassion.

Except that is a fairy tale, sorry. Maybe in a Star Trek like future, but that is fantasy for a reason. Men, and woman (and whatever man made gender in between) have the desire to be better than the rest. You too, you want to be better than us in terms of "equality". /1

no, i really don't. and while there are a lot of growing pains and struggles along the way, i really believe we're slowly moving toward a more equitable world. patriarchy and misogyny are not inevitable. a better world is entirely possible.
