They aren't even choosing male characters be use they prefer males, they have a specific vision, and they shouldn't have to change it to make a certain group happy.

But what informs that vision? What shapes that vision? And what message does that vision send? It's not something that exists in some kind of cultural vacuum. Games contribute to it. They perpetuate it.
