Where does the game ever establish this?! She's a simple plot device. Young girls who play Mario games don't get the message, "Oh wow, Princess Peach is so POWERFUL in this game!" They get the message: Men are heroes. Men do the rescuing. Women are weak.

Hear hear! If I want a game about equality I'll play Mortal Kombat and beat Sonia up or something. Let me just enjoy playing Mario in peace dear god.

Yeah well, news flash: you guys with your enjoyment of all the damaging sexism in games aren't the only people whose perspective matters.

Seem like you completely ignored my tweet. It's not like Peach has fought on the front lines in some of Mario's most recent games. (Super Mario World and Mario+Rabbits) It's not sexist to kidnap a woman, the game even has a good reason. She is the princess 1/2

I don't have the option as far as I can tell, secondly, you add nothing to conversation. And I think she can defend herself.

If she can defend herself why does she end up kidnapped by Bowser again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again?

Also you say "she's being kidnapped for her power." When does a core Mario game ever establish or communicate this? They don't. Again, young girls (and boys) don't get the message from Mario games, "Oh wow, Peach is so POWERFUL!" The games say men=heroes/rescuers, women=victims.

You do realise that there are Mario spin off games that makes peach part of the action? Mario Kart or Mario Sport for example

Because Bowser is strong and raids her castle with a literal army? Have you even seen: Super Mario Brothers 2, Super Mario 3-D world, Super Princess Peach and Mario+Rabbits kingdom battle?

Mario+Rabbids is cool, but not at all a core Mario game. Super Princess Peach sucks. SMB2 and 3D World are two good examples. That's nowhere near "equality." She's been kidnapped again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and a
