Super Mario Odyssey makes typical, disappointing use of the damsel in distress trope, but offers a tiny, refreshing glimpse of hope at the end. Read @carolynmichelle's latest:https://feministfrequency.com/2017/11/08/peachs-tiny-taste-of-freedom-gender-in-super-mario-odyssey/ …
No, in the same way that having a male protagonist doesn't guarantee that either. But in terms of having fewer deeply sexist representations of women & more decent ones, we're making a tiny bit of progress in the right direction. And that makes games (as a culture) a bit better.

I don’t want forced diversity. Only if it’s intended by the creator. uncharted 4’s nadine was completely immersion breaking stuff like that ruins a grounded tone. Ellie in the last of us actually could be hit.

Why do you think of games starring white dudes as "normal" but games with other types of characters as "forced diversity"? Black women are every bit as human as white men. Also Nadine was great sorry not sorry.

I find it hypocritical when yall complain about a woman being hit or shot when most of the time in shooters you are mowing down men.

You're wrong. Our position is not hypocritical. If you want to know what we actually think about this issue, watch this video: https://youtu.be/u64MGg3Hpp0
