I'm actually liking Breath of the Wild more the more I play it AFTER beating it, the more that I explore the world for the world's sake.

The shrine discovery system is so smart. No waypoints scattered all over the map. You've just got to get out there, climb those mountains.

It encourages a kind of intimacy with the world that I think is missing in most open-world games, a sense that the world itself matters.

That's why I tried completing all of the shrines before beating the game. You could say it was the call of the wild...ahaha no but seriously

Did you use any kind of guide, or find them all on your own? I'm getting down to the last 20 or so...

I got to 109 before I had to use a guide, but would still scour the map for obvious gaps where a shrine might be before using it again
