Ishiguro’s books have a way of sneaking up on you.
Glad to hear it, this was my first so I still need to read his others
I’ve only read a few so far, When We Were Orphans & Never Let Me Go, but IMO both had that quietly devastating quality where in the end your breath is taken away by the significance of it all. Both speak (to me, anyway) deeply about the uniquely strange experience of being human.
