I'm still in awe of the safe room themes in both RE1 and RE2, how they communicate a kind of haunted safety. Comforting and eerie at once.https://youtu.be/vMz6bhXyNZc

I still remember the way cameras worked in the first Alone In The Dark, and how it made the whole thing feel like a David Lynch film.

God, yes. I was playing the first Resident Evil remake recently and realized how perfectly placed every single last camera setup was. It's an artful limitation. I love fixed cameras.

The fixed-position camera in Silent Hill 1's opening alley that follows you around corners and almost turns upside down makes for a perfectly disorienting transition to the otherworld.

Just having a few recreations of the fixed camera angles in the silent hill movie made it my favorite video game movie.

Playing the remake convinced me to play the original when I'm able to. Rad

I totally agree that the aesthetic does add an extra bit of horror. As a partially blind person, it wasn’t playable for me. It was disorienting, couldn’t see my character, and I never got very far. The new RE2 was the first time I actually got to finish it and loved it

Og re1-3, silent hill 1-4 and ff7-9 are all classics for a reason and fixed camera needs to make a comeback.

I know I'm glad I got it on the PS3 through the PSN before Sony decided to nuke it all from orbit. It was my favourite game ever on the first playstation, outside of FF7.
