This is exactly why it’s started to feel weird for me. Like it’s become a way to signify a character’s universality (who doesn’t love petting dogs?) but...idk it’s hard to describe but it feels like it grounds characters in a way that throws their actions into relief

Feels like a case of "goodhart's law". What once was a nice measure of how much extra care a game has in its available interactions, has become a specific target so isn't representative anymore.
