I’m reading these classic books about directing film and acting and they’re all written by creepy sexist old dudes and this is how we’re supposed to learn filmmaking? Give me classic texts written by women and BIPOC folks who don’t use our bodies as punchlines to teach a point.

Not a book obviously, and (alas!) not by a woman, but Mark Cousins' Women Make Film series is at least a combination film school/film history seminar of sorts that exclusively uses films directed by women as its source material!
