this may be a little too "on the nose" as an (ahem) "empathy game" though. this framing is not doing the game any favors. hopefully it feels a bit more organic and less self-consciously twee in play than it does in this marketing presentation.

I know this is an extremely popular opinion and forgive me for being so mundane, but I *really* want them to return to Max and Chloe. It seems that likely isn't happening, but I miss those characters.

Carolyn, I'm wondering, is there a long piece that you wrote where you articulated this opinion in more detail? I didn't feel this way about the game, but there may be things I missed and I would be interested to learn more. With much regard.

The atmosphere of the first LiS is the thing that sticks out the most for me. The way the game looks with the soundtrack is a great pairing but the moments where you get to just rest and take in the world are the most special. Hanging with Chloe in her room was really special.

I remember getting the ending where Sean gets put in prison for a few years, before reuniting with Daniel who gets house arrest and thinking, that's a pretty optimistic outcome compared to what would probably happen irl!

I never saw the end of the game but I got super fed up with how black and white the game felt to me. It seemed like the bad guys were over the top villains. It’s not that I was looking for specific nuance, it just felt exaggerated and unrealistic even for the context.
