What people like Ralph here, who complains about the “violence of language” some of us use when powerful people deny or even “politely” question our validity and humanity, is that THAT is violence. That normalizes legislation against us. It normalizes physical violence against us

“Are trans women a threat to real women?” is not a question about which we can have polite disagreements. The question itself is violent and dehumanizing.

This is a perfect example of violent, dehumanizing rhetoric disguised as innocuous or protective. The unspoken but very clear meaning here is that trans girls aren't girls, trans boys aren't boys, trans people aren't valid. It's evil. It's monstrous. It's oppressive and harmful.pic.twitter.com/G4nUz9IWsC

I feel you. I love seeing Ralph Fiennes in things, but I can't abide. It's so disappointing and sad.

I'm here for his younger brother anyway. I'm the only fan of that Luther (2003) movie out there. And Shakespeare in Love? Great actor.

It's interesting how these people treat their own hateful and borderline-genocidal rhetoric as a mere "difference of opinion" as a way of pushing the narrative that people's existence is merely "up for debate."

It's fine. It's a complex situation & not everybody understands it. It's easy for him to come from JK's point of view without knowing or understanding how things went down.
