so i'm replaying demon's souls (which i played a fair amount of back in the day but never beat) and anything i once knew about a decent stage order i've completely forgotten.

i sorta feel like i'm playing a new mega man game for the first time, popping into every stage to see if i might have what it takes to get through it, nope-ing out, trying another, and so on, leveling up here and there when i can.

I’m playing the remake as my first ever playthrough and this is my experience right now after defeating tower knight(?) & exploring the other stones ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

yeah, that's where i'm at, too. i feel like the smithing grounds might be my best bet for the next stage i can clear but even that one is quite the ordeal.

I wound up clearing most of the prison first; the enemies are hard but they're few in number. Then I switched to smithing, which feels like where I'm supposed to be. It's a lot easier than skeleton island(?) that's for sure

yeah, skeleton island (TM) has been useful for a bit of grinding for me since those enemies near the start give quite a few souls, but this isn't exactly a game where you can just easily grind to a point where you can then go and steamroll everything haha.
