On the one hand, I definitely see the appeal of knowing that a particular activity will only take about five minutes, feeling like I want a quick burst of meaningful play, and just hopping right to it.

On the other hand, for me it only risks enhancing the feeling of a game--particularly, I suppose, an open-world game with lots of "activities" to check off the list--as a collection of little bites of content, sort of disconnected from any meaningful whole.

The experience of selecting something from this menu--that's really what it is--and being transported directly to that activity without even having to navigate the game's world or fast-travel systems, it feels strange to me. I may get used to it but I'm not sure it's a good thing
