I've always thought this. It's so strange to tell women to stop apologizing or being polite and start being more assertive instead of telling men to stop being jerks.

I have used a lot of phrases like "no worries if not" and qualified plenty of statements in a similar attempt to get by, and it is very noticeable when I don't how quickly even plenty of other women can at times turn on you. There's such an expectation of deferment.

Since covid and my spinal disorder, I've been taking less shit in general, to mixed success. As so many people will see a woman not qualifying things or not "keeping cool enough" and get annoyed, dismissing you outright. I have confidence, but I still want to get things done.
