Some people are once again reacting to one critic liking a game less than other critics as if it’s a sign that’s something wrong. Shouldn’t part of the benefit of multiple review outlets be that we get multiple valid perspectives on a game?
Right, right, there's only one valid subjective lens through which games should be evaluated, and it's the one that prioritizes genre fans, thus leading us back to a place of consensus that dismisses countless interesting ways of engaging with games. No thanks.

No, just one wrong way. There's many useful perspectives. The "I don't like this genre" perspective is the least useful and the most over represented. Again, neither of us want to hear a review from the "rap is crap" crew right? But a game designer, a grandmother, etc great idea.

We could always get that surprise contradictory opinion, right? I never liked a rogue-lite game before Hades. If I wrote for a gaming website, I might not have been the ideal person to play the game. I think everyone should be given a chance to change their mind about something.
