I wish I knew how to make cis people understand that if anyone is in danger when trans women like me use public restrooms, it’s us. (And it’s because of rhetoric like this.) Unless they’re single-occupant, I still get nervous using public restrooms and I probably always will.

My favourite is when they wheel out that cartoon of a burly bloke in a dress, doing a stand-up piss as a horrified WASP and her daughter look on, as if a) every trans person is a bloke in a dress and b) women's toilets don't have cubicles

I like that they completely erase the huge variance in child development and pretend all 'boys' are 6 ft tall and all 'girls' are 5'6"

So fed up of the excessive transphobia there is around the world, we're human beings just trying to live our lives, not punch bags.

This manages to be transphobic and cismysogynistic at the same time. A tall woman? With triceps? Good heavens!

When using a restroom, here's a list of things to watch out for: 1) are there any cameras? 2) is it clean? 3) does it have toilet paper? 4) does it flush? 5) are you able to close the door? 6) can you wash your hands afterwards? That is all.
