Yeah, it’s the sort of no-effort thing that feels like an attempt to cover their asses for the Chromanticure ad “controversy,” not like “Hmm, we have these ads everywhere, so let’s actually think meaningfully about trans people and their experiences in the fabric of Night City.”https://twitter.com/LaurakBuzz/status/1339299421150961666 …
In a game set in a future where gender is supposedly meaningless, it sure has a tonne of genderised clothing.
Would I know this character were trans if I met them in the game? ...because I’ve finished the game but don’t know to who this refers. That’s a problem too if I did indeed meet them.
Nope, you wouldn’t. You almost certainly did meet them.
Agreed, one thrown in “oh, before I transitioned” from that character doesn’t change the ways the game feels gross, exploitative, or just unaware of trans existences often
Okay I'm honestly asking what do you expect from game so it wouldn't be transphobic. In CP'77 you can have male character wear make-up, (traditionally) woman's clothing, not mentioning whole down there thing.
We know about at least one trans character, but a lot of other could be trans too, how could we know if its so normalised there? The whole debucle with adds, fits that too, every gender, race and sexuality is exploited there. That's the whole point of cyberpunk dystopia.
