One of my biggest disappointments is that the game doesn't let me reject authority. Even the anti corporate sentiment of Johnny Silverhand are framed by him being called a terrorist earlier on by the player character.

V can be a bad person and the game can still not function as a critique. It seems more constructive to come at it from that angle than a supposed collective understanding of the player character as "bad."

honestly considering how this game was marketed and how that was handled it's probably best to approach it this way because if we think V's bad, maybe we're projecting too much good will onto the text by calling it a critique of cops, etc.
