One of many things that makes Hades great is the way dying actually feels rewarding, and I don't just mean because you get to upgrade etc., I mean tonally rewarding, the dry comedic Groundhog Day determination of walking back out of that pool of blood, seeing the gang again, etc.

Yeah, there's something great about the vibe of that, sort of like being regulars at the same bar who can have a pleasant chat even if at other times they're obligated to fight each other.

My favourite part about this game is that it does what so many (every?) roguelike doesn't do: why am i getting up and doing this again? Why don't we address this? It's all there in the narrative and it makes the game much more enjoyable.
