When I was in kindergarten the teacher told my mom she thought I might have to be held back a year because I couldn’t color in the lines. (I was a ball of distraction and anxiety because my home life was so chaotic.)

It's really hard to validate your own intelligence when you've been told, both directly and indirectly, throughout your life that you're not intelligent. I can relate to that.

Mhm. Pretty much all my life, there have been a lot of times where someone'll be showing me how to do something, and they barely give me a split second to feel it out before acting like I'm just not getting it.
