Anxious this might sound elitist, but, as a lifelong lover of games, I mean it earnestly: there need to be more games that *require* critical thought and reflection in order to even enjoy them; that is how I‘d describe my experience w/other media that helped me grow as a person.

That’s certainly a valid POV and not one I find elitist, but I have found reading deeply subjective criticism by writers like Tevis Thompson, Jed Pressgrove and others extremely stimulating and valuable. It’s certainly more than possible with existing games.
