I crave a sense of mystery in games, whether it’s the vast unknown of playing Zelda 1 for the first time or the unsettling “Wait, what the fuck is ‘Insight’ doing?” feeling I had with Bloodborne. When a game lays itself out too openly & clearly, I sometimes feel something is lost

I loved Bloodborne, but I’ve never cared for the “research project” aspect of all the stats in most Fromsoft games. I don’t enjoy relearning how various stats work in one game versus another. Related: that’s also why I’ve never cared for Borderlands - EXTREME shooting...and math.

I love how open minded you are, Carolyn! Disagreeing with people should be a constructive and exciting thing, but it so rarely ever is. It’s usually just a ‘who’s more insightful’ contest
