I wrote about The Last of Us Part II, games as dreamspaces, and how this game completely lost me, then won me back just a bit. Like the game it's about, my piece is arguably too long, but I had a lot to say. I've never wrestled with a game quite so much.https://medium.com/@carolynpetit/broken-people-broken-worlds-thoughts-on-the-last-of-us-part-ii-a012de5d2acf …

Loved this piece so much. Two things that I can't get out of my head from the beach scene. One, the way that Abby accepts Ellie's presence without question once she recognizes her, without assuming murderous intent. Broke my heart.

And two, my growing conviction that Ellie didn't go all that way the second time to kill Abby, but to die at her hands.

Oooh, yes, quite possibly, and a very interesting thought. It’s a game full of remarkable moments, both those the game creates & those we are left to create for ourselves (like the moment of mourning I had upon finding the same arcade game Ellie played with Riley in Left Behind).
