Which isn’t to say these playable female characters aren’t often beautiful, of course I think they are. I’m just saying, you can feel when a character is specifically designed for the commercialized glossy male gaze and when they’re not.

She's also cute. Owen though... he looks like the default face on a character creator lol. Dina, Lev, Abby etc all have a "different" (real-ish?) look, don't know how to explain it, but not the usual "woman/man AAA" default look. Don't know if this makes sense.

Not to distract from the main positive here, but I also think it's great that games like TLOU make so much money. It's direct evidence that people WANT this sort of thing in their games and the anime avatars across the internet are wrong.
