Sure, but personally I have gotten less out of the perspectives of people who only care about games and modern hit movies and TV shows than out of those with deeper interests and knowledge of the arts.

Should explain what place this comes from. Writing reviews is something I really enjoy doing, but I always a have a fear that I’m not educated enough or don’t know enough to say something substantial

Oh, no, you shouldn’t let that stop you at all. I’m concerned about what I see as systemic issues within mainstream games criticism. A wider assortment of voices can only help alleviate those issues.
