Hmm yeah not really sure what people are talking about, that’s not exactly a big range of scores or anything. https://twitter.com/nibellion/status/1271339025660592129?s=21 …https://twitter.com/Nibellion/status/1271339025660592129 …

Wow very divisive game. Is it great or extremely great?!
This isn't a reaction to the game itself which I haven't played & look forward to making up my own mind about. Just frustrating that some people out there flip out when there's even this minimal amount of divergence in critical reactions. What do you all think criticism is for?!
There are people who want nothing out of game reviews but to be told that they are right to like the things they already like, sometimes things they've decided they like before they've even played them. It's a very serious problem, folks.
Is it really a range if the lowest score is an 8...? Like, the worst someone has to say is "it's really good."
I haven't actually looked at the scores myself as I'm trying to avoid reading the reviews, I just see chatter in my feed about people reacting to the range, hence my comment about "to whatever extent it might be happening."
I just hope it's interesting enough for me to still care about it like uh...7 years later like I do the first one
The most interesting games are the ones where the critical opinion is all over the place. Seeing games get universal praise is kinda boring, to be honest.
Polygon was not wild about it and their complaints about the narrative sound very valid in my opinion. Representation is fantastic, but I'm not so sure with a story like this. https://www.polygon.com/reviews/2020/6/12/21288535/the-last-of-us-part-2-review-ps4-naughty-dog-ellie-joel-violence …
Yeah, but, like, boooooms. and the monstrers.
