LRT: It’s hard for me to articulate how little patience I have with the crowd that is upset in advance by the fact that TLOU2’s narrative clearly wasn’t written by the team asking themselves, “What do we think the fans want? Well, let’s just give them that!”

And of course there are “fans” who *WANT* TLOU2 to take risks. The “fans” I’m referring to in the first tweet are the very vocal angry gatekeeper-y fans who position themselves as the “true” fans who games like this have an obligation to cater to and satisfy. Fuck off.

Anyway wish me luck trying to avoid the entire critical conversation about TLOU2 long enough to play it for myself and form my own reactions to it when it comes out!

One of my chief concerns going in is indeed how the game frames violence. That’s part of why I wanted to be clear that I may end up being extremely critical of this game.
