To me, he was tremendously victorious, and though he never won the presidency, his influence on American politics will perhaps prove to be more important than that of many presidents.

Bernie wasn't perfect, but he was the real deal: a politician with a moral core who spent his entire career fighting on behalf of the vulnerable and exploited, and against the cruelty of the wealthy and powerful.

The system is failing so many of us. So many. It simply cannot hold. As we consider how to remake it, the seeds Bernie planted in the consciousness of the younger generation will offer guidance as to how we can create a far more compassionate society, one that works for everyone.

Absolutely. Just four years after his ideas were considered outré and unworkable, UBI and single-payer health care are serious discussions in the primary. Sanders deserves the credit there. And he won't be president, but progressive politics are bigger than any one person.
