However I do think things like the widely RTd comparison between BoP’s box office, framed negatively, vs. the positively framed, nearly identical data for FvF, reveal larger issues of sexism that make it harder for mainstream media centered on women to appear worthy of existing.

And I think we still need to do more reckoning with the way men’s experiences in cinema are widely framed as universal, something for all viewers to relate to, while women’s experiences are often seen as gendered. This perception affects far more than our relationship to movies.
