Lately I've been having respiratory issues; my breathing often becomes mildly asthmatic. Some months ago I went to urgent care ($122) to get a prescription for an albuterol inhaler ($45). I probably need to have the issue looked into more deeply but that's not in the cards ATM.

I can't afford the urgent care visit now so I've been relying on caffeine (!!) to open the airwaves when my breathing gets raspy. Obviously this is hardly an ideal solution. Often the asthmatic breathing keeps me up. Caffeine provides some relief but also keeps me up. Yay!

My husband has asthma, but also can’t tolerate inhalers since they have something he’s allergic to in them. Steeping cut up ginger in hot water works pretty good to help him open his airways, if that’s accessible to you.
