It's definitely frustrating seeing (for instance) GDQ chat keep losing its shit just about having some runners' pronouns displayed. But for now the awkwardness, discomfort and tension is an inevitable step on the path toward normalization. Maybe someone can find a skip for it?

In other words, as unpleasant as it is, the reactions aren't an indication that GDQ should stop. They're an indication that it's actually a meaningful (and therefore, to certain people, disruptive and upsetting) gesture and that they should keep it up.

There's a lot of people who couldn't get over it, but I also saw several who genuinely asked "why do the runners have those?", "why is it necessary?", had it explained to them, and went "ahh I see", then just watched the runs
