I know it’s silly sometimes the things that bum me out but today I saw someone say the stop motion effects in Robocop “don’t hold up well” and like can’t you have a sense of wonder for what they accomplished then (and how) rather than judging everything against modern CGI?

I agree mostly with you. I think there's a lot of older movies that stand the test of time really well despite looking "dated" Robocop, Aliens, Psycho etc, but also I see films that have aged poorly due to limitations of the time, /1

For me. Connery Bond movies and Burtons Batman. Don't work and later installments show a progression in film techniques, stunts, acting styles and effects. So I also get seeing something and thinking "wow we've come a long way" The subjective nature of art I guess. /2
