does anyone else feel, like, insanely condescended to and/or ignored by doctors

like back in April I went to the doctor because my ear was really bothering me, and she barely looked at it and then told me it was probably allergies. I told her I've never had seasonal allergies and she just shrugged and sent me on my way

so anyway I went to a different doctor to ask about anxiety meds (like xanax or valium, a rescue med for when I'm having an anxiety attack) and she said those were too strong so she gave me something else and I was like okay cool, I'll work with this

so I've been using this medication here and there and it's not helping at all. I come to find out that it's an antihistamine, like a strong allergy med, that is sometimes used as a sedative. so I'm taking super benadryl for my debilitating anxiety.

That really sucks. I'm sorry. Sadly there's a widespread tendency for doctors to downplay women's health concerns. Your concerns are legitimate and they deserve appropriate attention. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/03/well/live/when-doctors-downplay-womens-health-concerns.html …
