A game that doesn't feel "flawed" is often a sign that they were playing it safe with key choices, but at the same time there's nothing wrong with that either! Some of my favorite games of all time are utterly conventional (especially in retrospect).

I love it when a game's reach exceeds its grasp. It's great to see devs shooting for the moon even if they can't perfectly pull it off.

The real flaws are the focus groups who removed all the most interesting parts we made along the way.

My game Watch Me Jump received some major acclaim for its writing. And boy, will I be the first to admit that it looks like crap.

This. Very often, "flawless art" loses its teeth, and, more importantly, its humanity, along the way. Resident Evil 2 remake may be more recognisably pleasurable to play, but its robotic and impersonal compared to its awkward and campy 1998 counterpart.

I haven't read any reviews for Shenmue 3, but I can't wait to play it despite the negativity.
