Does Biden have any concept of the notion that $60,000 might be a pretty steep bill for some people to foot under such circumstances?

I think he's just saying he paid instead of his DIL. Creditors would probably try to go after his estate; which may have hurt her. But imagine making this like a noble thing? 'Everyone should be glad to pay off a deceased loved ones debts. We are proud.'

Also if a creditor comes to you after a loved one dies; never pay a penny on that debt unless you cosigned for it. They can try to get it from their estate, but if there isn't that, the debt dies too. If you make a payment or anything the debt will become yours. Don't do it!
