I like The Mandalorian but let's be real, it is (or, rather, should be) straight up ridiculous how male dominated it is. Imagine a show that in its first three episodes, only had one man in a minor speaking role, and every other character of any significance at all was a woman.

And She-Ra is in many ways a show explicitly ABOUT centering women, but when shows are so dominated by men, they can still be seen as just "normal" shows.https://twitter.com/ianmclaughlin94/status/1197957293054124032?s=20 …

Never ceases to be wild to me how some people react to even mild criticism of massively successful popular entertainment as if just by uttering such critique, you’re passing a law that prevents anyone from admiring or enjoying that thing.

"Background characters" absolutely matter. When almost every bartender, cab driver, random shop owner and other bit part person is a man, it sends a message. Do y'all know that historically even in crowd scenes, women are drastically underrepresented? https://twitter.com/VarlusMD/status/1197985255027888135?s=20 …pic.twitter.com/jadoU1xOrt

Do they ever log off

I think they have some rotation g schedule or something, just in case a woman says something mean about a Star War or - heaven forbid - a shooty game.

I think if the character was a woman, it would have been way more interesting. How it is, i still really love it. I honestly don’t know when Hollywood will let go of the “tortured alone man” character tripe if they ever let it go.
