So, Kojima sure knows how to hold women up as almost angelic pinnacles of virtue. Everywhere I go, men talk about Amelie in tones of reverence and awe. She's not a flesh-and-blood person. She represents some pristine ideal.

But he still doesn't, it seems to me, know how to just let women be people. So far every "ordinary" blue-collar-ish working person I've met in this game has been a man. Every. Single. One. Women aren't among those getting their hands dirty to rebuild America, it seems.
