And they're both legitimate approaches. IMO just being clear about what you're trying to do helps a lot

I firmly believe it is possible to know whether you like something and impossible to guess whether an anonymous reader might. A critic concerned more about what I *might* think then what they *do* think disinterests me.

I think Jim Sterling did it real well this past year with games he knew others will like and could appreciate it for their merit while also identifying that they just weren't for him. Like Sekiro, it wasn't enjoyable for some but even they can corroborate that others may like it.
