The nourishment of the recognizably human, the thing I primarily go to movies for, is largely absent in Marvel movies, I find. And that’s fine, they’re hugely successful, and I recognize that they can be fun. We don’t all have to love them. Your comic book movies are safe.

Scorsese has a deeply personal relationship with cinema. To me, it's totally understandable that he isn't into the blockbusters that are now being made. I think people can go to films for different reasons. Some for entertainment, others for spiritual nourishment. Some for both!
