Even for those of us who champion subjectivity and fresh perspectives, deeply ingrained, culturally established ideas of what "quality" looks like can be hard to shake. But I wish we were more comfortable owning our own tastes and convictions about these things.

It's okay to think that a buggy, strange little platformer that nobody's heard of is beautiful & great. It's okay to think that a massively successful open-world RPG that critics & gamers agree defines quality is lifeless and uninteresting. Fuck consensus. Your tastes are valid.
