Yes, the Matrix sequels weren't great, but they took risks. I kinda like Jupiter Ascending, that film also took risks. When you take risks, you risk being bad but you might also be great. The MCU films are safe as fuck, they take no real chances and the best they can manage...

...is a safe, bland kind of goodness. We can't know whether a fourth Matrix film will be vital and relevant or tired and unnecessary yet, but let's hope that it at least takes some chances.

Given that it's in the hands of Lana Wachowski and the original cast, I think it will be good. It doesn't feel like an unambitious reboot or milking, but rather like something that's taken some time to work out.
