It is weird, but also there’s a lot happening in Alita that makes a certain subset of fairly media-illiterate dudes way more comfortable with Alita than with Marvel. She feels more sexually available to them.

That has nothing to do with whether one movie is ultimately better than the other, or more interesting cinematically, or anything. But it does seem to be something of a pattern among certain subsets of fans.
